Contribute to Save KTRU

Please donate to the Save KTRU fund to help stop the sale of KTRU’s FM frequency, license, and transmitter to the University of Houston. You can donate by check, made out to “Save KTRU” and sent to:

Save KTRU, PO Box 130148, Houston, TX 77019

You can also donate via PayPal.

However, PayPal deducts 2.9% + $0.30 from each donation made with the above button, so please consider this alternate method to avoid fees:

1. Log into your PayPal account (or create a new free account if you don’t have one).

2. Click on “Send Money”:

    a) In the “To” box, enter “info@savektru.org”
    b) Fill out the “Amount” box.
    c) Click on the “Personal” tab and ensure “Gift” is selected.
    d) Click “Continue”.

3. Make sure your donation is funded by your PayPal balance or linked bank account. Credit or debit card payments incur PayPal’s 2.9% fee.

Thanks!

Is KTRU listed as a nonprofit and, if so, are you (or have you been considering) getting listed as an eligible combined federal campaign charity?

Google it, it’s a way govt employees contribute to charities (and have donations matched, if I recall correctly).

While I most definitely work for the man, I grew up on college radio, and had the opportunity to do reporting work in college.

    Best, Brett

Re previous comment, IMHO it might be reasonable for Save KTRU to devote resources to incorporating as a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) depending on future goals, but it would not be worthwhile at this time for Save KTRU to devote resources to becoming a participant in the Combined Federal Campaign, which does NOT provide a match of donations, but merely a vehicle for federal employees to have contributions deducted from their paychecks pretax.
